Spring Break Youth Robotics Day Camp

Section B - 1:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m., ages 13+
Cost: $10
Limit 12 youth per section
Participants will develop skills with hands-on activities like designing and building a trebuchet/catapult, a "writing" robot, and building and programming a LEGO Mindstorms NXT 2.0 robot.

Kids in the Kitchen - summer cooking camp - It's Lunch Time!

 

"It's Lunch Time"
 
Summer Cooking Camp for youth who are going to be in 3rd grade and have completed 5th grade. 
 
Spills are acceptable in this fun summer cooking experience!  We are using all new recipes in this summer's cooking camp.  Kids will receive a cookbook with recipes used in the cooking camp. 
 
2013 Camp dates are: kids in kitchen>
June 5, 6, 7, 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
June 12, 13, 14  10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
June 24, 25, 26   10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

 Classes will be held at the County Annex.

 
Cost $8.00 per child- due at registration.
Class size is limited to 10 campers per session.
 
Parents will need to complete registration form for Kids in the Kichen.
 
Scholarships are available for youth whose families meet the free and reduced lunch guidelines for school.  All financial information is confidential.

Campference
Campference - This event is focused on "betweenagers;" 4-H members ages 12-14. Participants experience the feel of a "conference", while enjoying the "camp" activities at Rock Springs 4-H Center. Campference features workshops about opportunities in the 4-H program; activities to energize youth while learning leadership skills, and how to better interact with others.
  Campference will be held in June at Rock Springs 4-H Center. 
Information will be available in the spring of 2013.
Venturers

Venturers - A unique concept of bringing together youth (must be 14 by January 1) and adults who seek outdoor adventure challenges! The program consists of training in outdoor living skills, leadership and teamwork, communications, low-impact camping, backpacking, canoeing and white water rafting techniques prior to the 10 day summer adventure trip.

Cameras At The Springs

CATS is an informal photography retreat for adults at the beautiful Rock Springs 4-H Center south of Junction City, Kansas. Sponsored by the Kansas 4-H Photography Action Team, CATS provides a relaxing shooting experience for adult photography project leaders as well as other adults having an interest in photography.

Formal classes will not be held.  Photo Action Team members will be in attendance to lead photo excursions and answer questions relating to photography and the 4-H Photography Project.

Clothing Camp
The Kansas 4-H Family and Consumer Sciences Action Team is excited to announce a NEW camping experience!  "Find Your Wild Side:  A Sewing Safari Adventure Camp" will be held June 27-30, 2012 at Rock Springs 4-H Center.  Designed for youth ages 10-13, the camp will teach or refine basic sewing skills, expose campers to the variety of experiences available in the clothing and textiles project, and show how science, health, and technology relate to the clothing project. 
 
In addition to enjoying some of the activities of Rock Springs, campers will complete four clothing projects, enjoy fun experiments, participate in a community service clothing activity, and plan and participate in a Fashion Show.
 
All of the fabrics, supplies, and equipment needed for the sewing projects will be provided.  Camp is limited to 30 participants and will be filled on a first come first served basis.  Registration, 4-H participation form, and fee must be completed entirely and mailed to the address given by June 1.  Registration is not complete until all of these items have been received.
 
A few older teen and adult volunteers are also needed for this camp.  Please see the volunteer job description and volunteer registration forms.
